Mark your calendar: Plenty on tap for 2017 Heritage Weekend

The Central Pennsylvania Wesleyan Campground and Conference Center will host a special event filled with fun, fellowship and fundraising at Heritage Weekend 2017.

Set for Sept. 29-30, this event will kick off Friday the 29th with an interactive hymn sing at 7 p.m. followed by an old-fashioned ice cream social. There will also be opportunities Friday evening to purchase tickets for a benefit auction that will run through the next day.

Items — such as gift cards, theme baskets, crafts, etc. — can be donated for the special fundraising auction through the camp office or by calling Peggy Lenig at 570-850-3803.

Saturday, Sept. 30, kicks off with a pancake and sausage breakfast at 9 a.m. Donations toward the breakfast are welcome. Special afternoon activities are still being planned. Check back at centralpawccc.org for more information on those activities as they are finalized.

At 6 p.m. Saturday will be the sixth annual Heritage Banquet, to be held at Pickett Hall at the campground. This year’s catered banquet theme is “Celebrating our Heritage: Shaping our Future!” with guest speakers Pastors Ken and Melissa Davis from Sunbury. The meal is $25 per person and includes chicken cordon bleu, glazed tenderloin pork, seven-layer salad, scalloped potatoes, baked corn, green beans with brown butter, coffee and other beverages, homemade bread, cheesecake with berry topping, peach pie and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing.

Seating is limited for the banquet, so please purchase your tickets soon. Deadline is Sept. 20, with payments to be sent to CPWCCC, Attn: Lisa Jo Smith, 413 Buck Rd., New Columbia, PA 17856.

Of the banquet, 100 percent of your tax-deductible contribution will be donated to CPWCCC because the cost of the meal is being underwritten by table sponsors. To sponsor a table, contact Lisa Jo Smith at 570-538-2790.

Also at the Saturday night banquet, winners of the special fundraising auction will be announced.
