Camp Meeting 2018: Profile of Stephen J. Lennox, evangelist for Sunday through Wednesday

The first of two powerful evangelists to speak at the 99th annual God’s Holiness Camp Meeting will be Dr. Stephen J. Lennox, president of Kingswood University in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada.

“I grew up in Pennsylvania and went to college at Houghton and seminary at Evangelical in Myerstown, PA,” said Lennox, who is slated to lead the sermon each night from Sunday, July 22, to Wednesday, July 25. He will also lead 10 a.m. Bible studies on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the week.

“I will be preaching from 2 Peter 1 in the evening and teaching on Psalms in morning,” he said.

Lennox pastored three Wesleyan churches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and completed his PhD atDrew University. He taught at Indiana Wesleyan University for 22 years and has been president of Kingswood University since 2015.

“I love working at Kingswood because it gives me the opportunity to be around students who have a Christ-like servant-spirit and a passion for ministry,” he said “They give me great hope for the future.”

Lennox has been married to his wife, Eileen, for 36 years. The couple have a son, daughter and two grandchildren. Lennox has also written seven books and numerous articles. His books include “Joshua: A Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition,” “Moses: Faithful Servant of God,” “David: Favored Friend of God,” “A Holiness Hermeneutic” and “God With Us.” His most recent book is a study of the American holiness movement in the late 1800’s.
