The Christian group “Rejoicing Praise” will kick off the 2019 camp meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Central Pennsylvania Wesleyan Campground near New Columbia.
The group includes Rod Murphy, Ricky Murphy and Jill Bradigan — each of which have grown up with memories of God’s Holiness Grove Camp experiences each summer and are excited to be a part of the 100-year celebration.
“Ricky, Jill and I are excited about singing at camp. We love the Lord, love to sing and love camp meeting for many, many years,” said Rod. “I grew up at the Selinsgrove campus when camp meetingwas down there. It’s always been a part of my life. I was not able to attend all the time due to my work schedule, but so thankful for the impact that it has made on so many lives over the years! Certainly, we have such a great heritage of Holiness! I’ll never forget seeing a picture of my Grandpa Oplinger sitting up front with the brass band.”
The group offers a “Southern Gospel” sound. “We sing to rejoice and praise God and give Him all the glory,” Jill said.
“We hope to share songs that will encourage the hearts of people that are able to be there,” said Rod. “What an exciting time to celebrate 100 years of camp meeting.”
