The Central PA Wesleyan Campground and Conference Center’s 2018 Heritage weekend was another huge success, thanks to everyone who helped chip in. It was organized again this year by Ken and Peggy Lenig, with numerous helpers throughout the event.
On Friday night, a hayride was offered with nearly 30 people enjoying the 45-minute ride throughout the local region. The tractor was driven by Ryan Smith and there were plenty of donuts and hot chocolate offered afterwards.
Thirty-five people attended the Saturday morning benefit breakfast, enjoying a tasty meal including pancakes and sausage and all the fixings.
A variety of outdoor family activities were offered Saturday afternoon, including a fishing derby, kayaking and horseback riding opportunities. Three Brittany puppies also came to check out the facilities and made some new friends at camp.
The Saturday evening banquet was attended by 81 people, with plenty of tasty food catered and music ministry offered by Rod and Ricky Murphy. The benefit auction that evening offered more than 100 items and, combined with the breakfast, ultimately raised $1,915 toward the addition of restrooms at Pickett Hall. Donations are still being accepted toward that project.
